AI in Elasticnote

Elasticnote adds AI assistance around editable writing and research projects. Choose the narrowest workflow that fits the task and review important output before accepting it.

AI Writer

Use AI Writer for brainstorming, rewriting, summarising, explaining and focused document edits. It works alongside normal manual editing rather than replacing it.

Local AI

Supported local-model workflows let you use models running on your own machine where available. Local execution can reduce how much document context leaves your device.

BYOK cloud AI

Bring-your-own-key providers use credentials you configure for the browser/session workflow. Privacy controls determine whether manuscript or project context may be sent to a provider.

Research AI

Paper Memory, AI Review and Deep Research add evidence-oriented assistance for research and LaTeX projects. Generated analysis is assistance, not automatically verified evidence.

Keep control

Prefer a focused action for a focused question. Check quotations, citations, calculations and factual claims against primary sources before publication.

Remote MCP

Remote MCP is different from Local AI and BYOK AI. It temporarily projects only selected notebooks for external compatible AI clients while Browser/OPFS remains canonical. Start with Remote MCP Overview.
